    Nestling Labor โ€” Privacy Policy

    Last updated: June 11, 2026

This privacy policy describes what data Nestling Labor (iOS app, bundle id com.nestlingapp.labor, published by Nestling App, LLC) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. This policy applies specifically to Nestling Labor; the parent Nestling app's privacy policy is separate.

    TL;DR

    • Your labor session data stays on your device by default. iCloud sync (optional, off by default) writes to your private CloudKit container โ€” Apple's, not ours.
    • We do not sell your data, ever. We do not train AI on your data. We do not share it with advertisers.
    • Apple Health writes are optional and one-way only โ€” Nestling Labor never reads any health data, only writes a labor session as a "recovery workout" if you tap Baby Arrived and grant permission.
    • Partner-share links are temporary tokens that expire within 48 hours and you can revoke at any time.
    • We use PostHog (privacy-first analytics) and Sentry (crash reports) to keep the app working. You can opt out of analytics in Settings.

    What we collect

Data you create in the app

Computed intervals + durationSame storageThe product
    "Baby arrived" timestampSameThe product
Partner-share tokens (you create)Backend (Supabase) for 48h max, then deletedReal-time partner watch

Data we collect about app usage

    • PostHog: anonymous app events (e.g. "session started", "5-1-1 reached"). Per-install anonymous identifier (UUID generated on first launch). No name, email, or session content.
    • Sentry: crash reports + diagnostic logs.
    • RevenueCat: subscription / IAP receipt to verify your Forever Unlock entitlement.

You can opt out of PostHog analytics at Settings โ†’ Privacy โ†’ Anonymous analytics.

    Data we do not collect

    • Your name, email address, or phone number unless you contact support.
    • Your location.
    • Anything from Apple Health (write-only).
    • Your contacts, photos, or microphone.
    • Cross-app or cross-website tracking data.

Third parties we share data with

We use the following service providers (data processors). None receive your contraction or session data unless you use partner share.

    • Apple (App Store, Apple Health, iCloud) โ€” receipts, device IDs, your CloudKit data (encrypted)
    • RevenueCat โ€” anonymous install ID, IAP receipts
    • PostHog โ€” anonymous event stream, install ID
    • Sentry โ€” crash reports, diagnostic logs
    • Supabase โ€” partner-share tokens (only if you use partner share); token only, no session content

We do not use any advertising networks, attribution providers, or AI-training partners.

    Apple Health (HealthKit) specifics

Per Apple's HealthKit policies (5.1.3): Nestling Labor's HealthKit access is write-only. We request permission to write a single HKWorkout of subtype "preparationAndRecovery" that captures your labor session start and end times. We never read any health data, period. HealthKit data we write is never sent to PostHog, Sentry, RevenueCat, Supabase, or any third party.

If you decline the permission prompt, the app continues to work โ€” you just won't get a workout entry in Apple Health.

Cross-app handoff with Nestling (the baby tracker)

When you tap Baby Arrived in Nestling Labor, you can choose to hand off to Nestling, our baby-tracker app. That handoff:

    • Opens a Universal Link to https://trynestling.com/baby-arrived with your session UUID in the URL
    • iOS routes that link to the Nestling app if installed; otherwise Safari opens the trynestling.com page with an App Store install prompt
    • Nestling reads the session UUID and lets you continue your timeline from contraction โ†’ first feeding

The session UUID is not personally identifying; it's a random identifier generated on first launch in Nestling Labor. We use it to join your "labor ended" event with Nestling's "labor handoff received" event for product analytics.

You can decline the handoff. Nestling Labor still records "Baby Arrived" locally regardless.

    Partner Share (live labor link)

If you create a Partner Share link, Nestling Labor sends a limited, live summary of your active labor session to our server so anyone you give the link to can follow along on a web page. What's shared:

    • Contraction timing only โ€” lengths, gaps, count, and 5-1-1 status
    • No name or personal details, and none of your notes or Apple Health data

Each link is a long, unguessable token, expires automatically after 48 hours, and you can revoke any link at any time in Settings โ†’ Birth Team Share, which immediately stops sharing. Links are off by default โ€” sharing only happens when you create one. We don't sell this data or use it for advertising.

    Data retention + deletion

    • Session data on your device: stays until you delete the app or manually delete sessions in Settings โ†’ History โ†’ Delete All
    • iCloud-synced session data: stays in your private CloudKit container until you turn off iCloud sync or delete the data; we never see it
    • Partner-share tokens: deleted from Supabase 48 hours after creation, or immediately when you revoke
    • Anonymous analytics (PostHog): retained for 12 months
    • Crash reports (Sentry): retained for 90 days
    • IAP receipts (RevenueCat): retained for the life of your entitlement (forever, since Forever Unlock is a non-expiring purchase)

To request deletion outside the normal retention windows, email support@trynestling.com with subject "Privacy request โ€” delete my data."

    Children + medical context

Nestling Labor is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Not a medical device; not medical advice; no emergency detection. Nestling Labor ("the App") is a self-help contraction timing tool for informational purposes only. It is not a medical device, is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition, and does not provide medical advice. The App cannot and does not detect the onset of labor, complications, or any emergency. Timing patterns such as 5-1-1 are general informational references, not instructions or recommendations. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something in this App. In an emergency, call your healthcare provider or your local emergency number (911 in the U.S.) immediately. You assume all risk for any decision made while using the App. See the medical disclaimer for full language.

    Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your data. Most data we have on you is on your device or in your iCloud โ€” you have direct control. For analytics or partner-share data, email support@trynestling.com and we'll respond within 30 days.

GDPR (EU/UK) and CCPA (California) requests: support@trynestling.com, subject "Privacy request."

    Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we'll update the "last updated" date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, surface an in-app notice the next time you open the app.
